Urbanhold

Incorporated in January 2026, Urbanhold, in which Canaf owns a 50% interest, is focused on building a scalable network of self-storage facilities in South Africa by converting vacant retail space within shopping centres.

During the first half of 2026, Urbanhold commenced development of its first two pilot projects in Gqeberha and Johannesburg. Urbanhold intends to initially roll out a further one to two pilot sites in order to validate operating performance, demand and returns.

Subject to achieving targeted performance metrics across these pilot locations, Urbanhold plans to scale the platform to approximately 1,500 units across 7–10 locations, following which it will evaluate opportunities to expand the platform further.
